As dawn came up this morning in our sleepy little valley I heard the morning chorus of kookaburras, butcher birds and other rain forest birds. This is my best time for getting up and getting on with my greatest pleasure of the day MAKING SOAP! I had prepared everything last night ready for an early start. First on the list today was Nude Goat Milk Soap which came together really well and looked like cream as it supponified ready for pouring. The next was Avocado & Sweet Orange, always a tricky one to get the colour right! The rich avocado oil, earthy green in colour can put you off the right mix especially as the clay colouring can vary so much. I think those who love my soap are aware that cottage craft has a little more license than factory produced soaps so everyone will tolerate a little inconsistency. The one thing that is never compromised is the ingredient quota and lots of good things are carefully measured and mixed.
I can’t believe that today I have time to talk to you because I finished my days work before most people were even on the road. I am so lucky that I can vary my times of production to suit the weather, the heat or coolness of the day and life’s demands keeping the house going.
Today I’m off to chat with my customers in the local town and do some research for my next goat milk soap variety launch.
