Massage Oils are coming!

09 Feb 2012 / 0 Comments / in News/by soapadmin

We have decided to add a new range of products in the form of massage oils… We have developed a small range (four) of wonderful oil blends that are designed to feed your skin with a gentle and nurturing combination of oils. Our base ingredients will include;

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – which is a wonderfully light oil extracted from the fruit of the coconut it is a great moisturiser on its own and does not leave a greasy residue..

Sweet Almond Oil – A light tesxtured oil high in vitamin D a perfect additive to massage oil as it does not absorb into the skin too quickly

Apricot Kernel Oil – Rich in essential fatty acids: oleic and linoleic. Good for dry and mature skins.

Evening Primrose Oil – High in gamma-linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid which helps to repair sun damaged and dehydrated skin. Good for all skin types

Macadamia Nut Oil – A light oil which is like velvet on the skin and suitable for all skin types. A close match to the skins sebum making the oil easily absorbed. Very high in Palmitoleic acid.

Jojoba – promotes healthy skin by stabilising and maintaining the intercellular structure. Also has known antibacterial properties and antifungal properties.

To our base oil blend we then add a specific combination of pure essential oils to enhance the benefits even further. We will have a calming treatment oil to help you unwind, warming oil for those romantic moments another for a soothing relaxation massage and a premium massage oil to spice up your love live using some popular aphrodisiac essential oils.

Soap Heaven!

30 Nov 2011 / 0 Comments / in News/by soapadmin

As dawn came up this morning in our sleepy little valley I heard the morning chorus of kookaburras, butcher birds and other rain forest birds. This is my best time for getting up and getting on with my greatest pleasure of the day MAKING SOAP! I had prepared everything last night ready for an early start. First on the list today was Nude Goat Milk Soap which came together really well and looked like cream as it supponified ready for pouring. The next was Avocado & Sweet Orange, always a tricky one to get the colour right! The rich avocado oil, earthy green in colour can put you off the right mix especially as the clay colouring can vary so much. I think those who love my soap are aware that cottage craft has a little more license than factory produced soaps so everyone will tolerate a little inconsistency. The one thing that is never compromised is the ingredient quota and lots of good things are carefully measured and mixed.

I can’t believe that today I have time to talk to you because I finished my days work before most people were even on the road. I am so lucky that I can vary my times of production to suit the weather, the heat or coolness of the day and life’s demands keeping the house going.

Today I’m off to chat with my customers in the local town and do some research for my next goat milk soap variety launch.

No Longer at Nerang Markets

28 Nov 2011 / 0 Comments / in News/by soapadmin

Sorry to have taken a while but the demands of soap making are huge, especially when you love making it more than anything else! I am going to try to tell you a story when I can so that you might know a little more about my crazy world of soap.

The first thing I must tell you, for all those who have been looking for us at the Nerang Farmers Market is that we have moved. With sadness we had to move on to pastures new. We have made many good friends in the market and love all the stallholders some of whom have helped us to find a position for retail that suits our product better. The trouble with farmers markets is that they are designed to open at crack of dawn and finish around lunch time. Most of our followers don’t get out of bed til around 8a.m. and then like us to be available til mid afternoon. We have moved on to the Art & Craft Market that roves up and down the beachfront from Broadbeach to Coolangatta and visits Burleigh as well.

We enjoy our Sundays at each of these venues very much because we gaze at the sea while walking our beautiful golden retriever, Ragamuffin and also enjoy the many beautiful hand made art and crafts displayed in the 150 stall market along the foreshore. We often sell some soap too!!!

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Christine
